Hot Band Baajaa Baaraat Season!

It’s a June month. It’s hot & humid all out there. And, if your family is likely to plan a wedding this month, it’d be hot inside too, inside your very ‘thick-to-be-thin’ pocket. Especially, if you are a middle-class person & may not afford a five star hotel!

Well! Marriage is a very private affair & no one is supposed to question your decision to make it happen right now. But, if there is any second choice to put it in abeyance which could save those extra bucks, won’t you like to lend your ear to it!
Don’t worry! It would be privy to us, am not going to let your kith and kin get any clue. ;)

I have been to various marriages this season. Yes! In this single month, I have had been invited to number of marriages & still marriages are on cards. Albeit, I enjoyed every wedding while having cold drinks & pani-puri; & wiping sweat, getting uneasy with humid at the same time, they were fun. Still, people do not leave any opportunity to bad-mouth your endeavours. I may understand the status of mind of parents who leave no stone unturned to make it a memorable event, yet when all it ends to their guests complaining about the arrangements, it hurts  :(  until & unless you have affordable wedding planners like Shruti & Bittoo  ;)

Besides catering, mandap & lights, you have to squander some extra penny in this hot weather for fans, coolers, water-coolers, ice-cream (yes! In winters, it’s an option for many) & special AC Room (if not for everyone, at least for your would-be relatives). Coming July, there might be unpredictable rains to ruin your business. Again, you have to arrange for a proper shed. All this would digest your money in abundance which could be avoided if it’s a November-December wedding. Even Shruti & Bittoo would be more affordable in the last quarter of year.

No fans, no coolers, no cold-water, no AC-Room! Ice-creams (even if people have it, it’s consumption-rate is much lower…..people who takes 3 cups, 1 cup is more than enough in winter) & cold-drinks are avoided too!  ;)  Won’t it be a great help to you, especially, when petrol prices are adhered not to stumble any more, when inflation climbs to the height of mountain, when daily-routine business has already have its share?

Now, what are you planning for? Wedding in the last quarter of year with Band Baajaa Baaraat???  ;)  :)

Take a Stand

In our childhood days, we were preached to share our belongings to the needy ones & to our friends so that they may also have their share of joy. Then here comes Facebook, & our tech-obsessed buddies have engulfed in this meander as such that they have forgotten to use their wits what really ‘Share’ means & feel like sharing every rubbish scrap coming their way, even if it’s cheap & hollow.
Even if there is a sorrowful moment depicting picture, it is supposed to be clicked with a ‘Like’ button……..I really don’t get what is so likeable about them. Someone has shared through Facebook his grief of losing her sister due to dowry & there are ‘Likes’. What rubbish!
From the very first day when ‘Satyamev Jayate’ has been aired, people have been sharing its Facebook page, clicking ‘Like’ & leaving the page with comments about every weekly topic being discussed. Everyone had been making their best efforts to leave a commendable quote about Aamir & his endeavors in this venture. There were scraps quoting his sacrifices in apropos of films & money he has put on. How he had given priority to this show against his most awaited film, how he had spent two full years over this venture to reach the heart of everybody & blah blah blah ………
Now, as TRP of the show has started plunging & a few of idiots have got the opportunity to raise their fingers with nothing worth of at their end, everybody is taking a U-turn. Now the very same people who had been supporting him with sharing commendable scraps, have been sharing scraps leaving scathing attacks to him that how much money his pocket is weighed with & other demeaning, baseless allegations( I didn’t read it full in annoyance), totally in opposite to what they were sharing earlier tempting me to share my views with you. This should not be done! This should really not be done!
I mean use your mind and take a stand. Do you have a conscience? Can’t you really see what he has been trying to convey? What endeavors he had put on? Has he come, till now, with something which should be proscribed to get telecasted? Does his show not convey something which would, indeed, affect people to get humane toward their surroundings? On what basis you were backing him earlier & now, what have you got your hands wet with to oppose him?
Please, take a stand using your conscience & just don’t follow the crowd.

            Satyamev Jayate!

Happy Father’s Day

My first step on this earth
& your guidance to move it up.
My arduous task to spell first word
& your getting agog to scream yes!

My question to waking up at 6
& your answer not to take risk.
My callow demeanor in every phase
& your catechism in each such case.

My exorbitant demand to have it
& your dexterous effort to place it.
My hogwash when comes to place
& your diligence how to axe.

My diffidence to make it real
& your dauntless effort to have it without fear.
My delicacies, chocolates & cakes,
I need nothing, just you my dad!

I’m Behenji!!!

Are you a small town girl? Do you not carry attitude to show-off? Do you not carry short skirts? Do you not speak English fluently but Hindi? Do you not have a lover? If you get 5/5 in this round, you are a qualified Behenji.

You would be a subject of mockery if you won’t give back that attitude to them. If you don’t carry short skirts then you know nothing about style. If you can’t speak English fluently, you are worthless &…………if you have perfection in Hindi, again you are worthless. It’s an English speaking world & you have no place here.

I like skirts but do not demean a kurta pyjama clad girl. I find kurtis as stylish as skirts. I speak English but do not mock at someone who is trying to get fluent over the international speaking language or who is proficient in Hindi. It’s a privilege to having someone around who has a profound knowledge of our national language. I do not believe in pretending to have something I, really, may not possess. I do not have a lover but that doesn’t mean I am not worth of someone’s interest. It simply means, I am too busy to be in a relationship or haven’t found a guy of my interest.

Still, I would say I’m Behenji.

I’m B-beautiful
I’m E-elite
I’m H-honest
I’m E-enthusiastic
I’m N-nifty
I’m J-jaunty
I’m I-impeccable

Yes!............next time if someone would call you Behenji, do not get disheartened but accept it with grace as your eponym. You are the most beautiful person in this world if you see beauty in everything around yourself. You belong to an elite group of people who is best to handle every adverse situation. You are honest if you don’t pretend, if you show sincerity toward others as well as yourself. Be always enthusiastic to hold responsibilities & get your task done. You are as nifty as others, just carry yourself with confidence. Always be cheerful whatever the circumstances are. Be confident, be jaunty. You are an impeccable being to be loved & followed by others.

Say Cheese!.......all Behenjis.

Exploring Innerself!

Was groping in the dark,
with unawareness in the mind.
A ‘Can-do’ attitude was there…..
but that was just a baseless fight.

Attitude ruled over aptitude,
but it led to no latitude.

Failure in continuance
gestures the passion,
what I love to,
what I may live with.

Diffidence comes to existence,
if it also leads to failure…..
but attitude was still there to give a try.

Serenity dwells in the mind,
recognized my true love in the sight, &
explored someone who was left behind.

Tribute to Goddess Saraswati!

Thou the Ocean of understanding
draping the symbol of purity,

holding the Book of knowledge on one
with full tender & control,

Rosary of concentration on another
so not to sidetrack from the course.

Seated on the Swan of discrimination
acknowledging the real & unreal.

Rhyming the strings of Veena
all collective thoughts & actions.

Bestow upon your grace to me
that purity, knowledge & wisdom.

Bless me! I may reach the shore
if not the Ocean.

I’m, here, begging you the power of knowledge, wisdom, intelligence & purity. Bless me, Goddess Saraswati!

My first blog poem is a tribute to Goddess Saraswati. May she keep always bestowing us with conscience, acknowledgement & wisdom!  :)
